That was until Tuesday, 11th January when I received a somewhat panicked call from Kim who wanted to stay at home that day to pack up her ground floor apartment as rumours were circling that floodwaters were heading our way. Not really appreciating what was in store, I casually told Kim to take it easy and that I'd see her the next day. How wrong I was!
What happened in Brisbane over the coming days could only be described as a nightmare. The Brisbane River, which snakes it's way through some of the most populated parts of the town, broke its banks and slowly started swallowing whole suburbs. Thankfully both Kim and my families escaped any major damage, but watched on in utter disbelief at what was happening to our lively city.
Sadly, West End was one particular area that was badly hit. Although our venue for Frock Affair survived unscathed, the areas surrounding were seriously affected and as a result, we decided to cancel our February market.

We are pleased to advise that our next market has been confirmed for Saturday 9th April 2011. We have an exciting collection of stallholders and are looking forward to sharing some exciting buys with you all! This market will go ahead; rain, hail or shine (handy when we're undercover then!) Of course, A Frock Affair again offers free entry in 2011.
Our thoughts are with those who were affected by the recent floods throughout Queensland and wish you a speedy and safe recovery as homes and lives are rebuilt.
Best wishes,
Amy & Kim
